Fiber is great for maintaining or re-gaining your sexy body for the summer. There are two types of fiber, soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber is acted upon by the normal bacteria in your intestines. Good sources of soluble fiber include oats, beans, dried peas, fruits, vegetables and legumes. Insoluble fiber is not digested by the body, and it also promotes regularity and softens stools. HOW MUCH FIBER DO I NEED? The American Dietetic Association recommends a healthy diet include 25 – 35 grams of fiber a day, including both soluble and insoluble fiber.
