Balance of Nature Review

Balance of Nature is one of the most aptly named supplements we have ever tested. It’s aim (as the name implies) is to give you a carefully balanced blend of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients that are derived directly from the foods where you would expect to find them.

Balance of Nature has become a well known brand and although it isn’t cheap, it promises all the benefits of consuming a healthy, well balanced diet each and every day. Our job is to determine whether or not this multi-vitamin supplement is as good as the promises – so let’s find out in our Balance of Nature review.

About Balance Of Nature

balance of nature fruit and veggies

Unlike many health supplements, Balance of Nature was established three decades ago! It all started with Dr Douglas Howard, a now retired Chiropractic Physician and current professor of medical science and research at Pavlov Medical University. He has quite the back story that essentially reads as someone who has dedicated their life to improving the lives (and just as importantly the health) of others.

It is essentially Dr Douglas Howard’s never-ending pursuit of health and longevity that led him to creating a supplement that aims to replicate the benefits of eating a balance of 10 fruit and vegetables per day and delivering all the phytonutrients needed to live a healthy and balanced life.

The company is very much led by Dr Douglas Howard’s medical philosophy and has a strong ethos that is set around family life, self-accountability, righteous living, eat-think-do (essentially having a well-rounded healthy lifestyle), passion and positive attitude, team-work, a self-employed mentality, tenacity and productive support. That’s quite an ethos to aspire to but these qualities really do seem to shine through in the way Balance Of Nature portray themselves as a company and in the products that they sell.

The fact that Balance Of Nature only have 3 products is also a testament to them committing to produce supplements that really are a mix of everything you need, rather than trying to cash in on selling 20 or 30 different supplements for different needs.

The whole philosophy behind the product is that it has everything you need to keep healthy and although it is by no means a replacement for good quality whole food, it will ensure you get your recommended daily intake of all the vitamins and minerals you need – all derived from whole foods.

Balance Of Nature Packages Reviewed

Balance Of Nature have 3 products but essentially 2 options to choose from. They have their fruits supplements and veggie supplements (which are sold together) and then they have their Fiber and Spice supplements which can either be bought individually or as part of a bundle that contains all three.

If you feel you get enough fiber from your diet then you may not need to worry about the Fiber and Spice, but for most people who are lacking in their fruit and veg intake, they are likely also lacking in their fiber so it could well be worth trying it for a month at least.

One point that it really is important to make about Balance Of Nature products is that they are packed full of ingredients that come from whole foods. There are no fillers, sugars, added chemicals or pesticides in their products and all fruit and vegetables used are completely natural and vine ripened (where applicable). They have also been third party tested so you can be sure you are only putting the ‘good stuff’ in to your body.

Fruits and Veggies Bundle

The Fruits and Veggies bundle is the one that appeals to most people when they first think of buying from Balance Of Nature. Each daily does contains no less than 31 fruits and vegetables that have been naturally grown and flash freeze dried to remove the water content whilst retaining the natural color, flavor and goodness of the fruits and vegetables. Each blend is then ground down to a powder and encased in a capsule ready for your consumption.

This kind of freeze drying is often found in fine dining restaurants as it really does provide an intensity of flavor as it literally just removes the water content from the fruit and vegetables and keeps everything else locked in. The benefit from a supplementation point of view is that it the nutritional benefits of the food are completely preserved and there is no need for anything extra to be added.

In short – you are getting all of the benefit of eating the foods whole, all in 3 convenient and easy to take capsules (3 fruit and 3 veggies).

Each bottle contains 90 capsules and with the recommended daily intake for each bottle being 3 capsules you will find that each bottle lasts for one month. You can take them whenever is convenient but we would suggest not taking them directly before bed. You can simply swallow them with water or you can choose to chew them and enjoy the flavor – this is more pleasant with the fruit capsules than the vegetable capsules.

Fiber and Spice Bundle

For those who want the whole health system you can opt for the package that includes the fiber and spice supplement and that really should take care of all your dietary needs from a nutritional point of view.

The consumption method is a little different with this bundle (which after taking 6 capsules already you will be glad of) and the Fiber and Spice supplement comes as a powder which is to be mixed with a liquid of your choosing. Most people will mix with water as standard, although we found mixing it with fruit juice (apple works really well) gave the drink a nice spiced flavor and works really well as a breakfast drink.

Again, you get 30 days worth of servings with each container and the ingredient profile is of course again made up of 100% natural whole foods and natural spices. This is not going to replace your need for breakfast (and you can tale it any time of the day) but it is a little more filling and contains 50 calories in total.

As the name implies, the aim of this bundle is to provide your diet with adequate fiber which is well known for keeping you regular and contributing to overall good health. The spices have also been included to help aid digestion and provide another great source of phytonutrition.

Ingredients:

  • Psyllium husk
  • Flax seed
  • Whole Apple
  • Whole Monkfruit
  • Cinnamon
  • Ginger
  • Turmeric
  • Fennel
  • Cardamom
  • Cumin
  • Fenugreek
  • Coriander
  • Clove
  • Allspice
  • Mustard
  • Nutmeg

The blend of ingredients is pretty impressive here and it is the addition of the herbs and spices that really sets this product aside from other fiber based supplements.

Our Testing

We tested Balance of Nature for 6 weeks and although that probably isn’t enough to realize the full benefits of the supplement, it was enough to garner some initial findings.

We tested the ‘Whole Health System’ from Balance of Nature which includes the fruits, veggies and fiber and spice packages. Like most reviews of Balance of Nature, our findings are pretty much anecdotal as we didn’t have the capacity for a fully fledged controlled testing – that being said, the anecdotal results we had were pretty interesting.

We had one female tester and one male tester, both in their early thirties and both who had not been taking any form of nutritional supplementation for at least 8 weeks prior to the testing. Both eat relatively healthy diets that are high in protein, but pretty well balanced from a macro and micro nutrient point of view.

Both testers claimed that after just one week of taking the supplements they felt more energetic in their day to day lives. The female also claimed that she felt like she was sleeping better on a nightly basis.

After the first month, the discussions were even more interesting with much of the talk turning to daily bowel movements and a feeling of real regularity with less digestion concerns.

Of course, the real benefits from Balance of Nature would come from months of consistently taking the supplements but both testers felt a positive change in their levels of alertness and energy overall and both felt they were in a better place in terms of general health as a result of taking the supplements.

Balance Of Nature Reviews – Real User Reviews

Our testers really felt there was a positive impact as a result of taking Balance of Nature supplements. But what do the real consumers think? Here are a handful of Balance of Nature reviews we found online from verified users:

I’m a 75 year old male who has leg weakness, the last year, affecting my daily walking program and performance on my aereobic exercise machine. I saw the TV commercials and skeptically sent away for ithese bottles, because I was desperate, due to my sluggishness. Got the bottles in 3 days and after 3 weeks, I’ve been walking 2-3 minutes faster than my usual sluggish average-same route every day. Several times, I went from 27.5 minutes to 23.5 minutes! That’s really significant!

My aerobic machine has resulted in profound improvement too.

Nothing “natural” has ever worked for me before.

I take the recommended 6 capsules, spread out at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I’m elated at my improvements!

H.Powders

I waited until I am almost finished the first bottle of these so i could give a somewhat informed review.

Did I see the WOW improvement…. no I did not but there have been little changes.

During week 2 i noticed the 3 o’clock wall wasn’t there anymore, daily leg and foot cramps were no longer daily and more like not any more. I got better color in my face during week 3, no longer had the issue of being able to finish a meal without having to go to the bathroom and the best one happened in during this week (week 4) i can eat ice cream again without getting bubbly guts LOL.

What will you see I can not say but I have seen enough to keep using it and see what else happens.

Rick

There are of course some less positive reviews too but the general feeling among users was positive and the average review score for Balance Of Nature was 4.3 out of 5. That’s pretty impressive for a supplement when impact can be subjective and vary from person to person.

Balance Of Nature Verdict

Supplements of this nature can be really difficult to review as there are so many factors at play. But, Balance of Nature do seem to have got a lot of things right with this product. The fact that has been created by a medical professional of the standing that Dr Douglas Howard has is one real selling point – but more than that, the completely natural ingredient profile and the process it goes through and the provenance of the ingredients goes a long way to convincing us that Balance of Nature can really have a profound impact on your overall nutrition and therefore health.

If you are sitting on the fence over any kind of multi-vitamin or all-in-one dietary supplement then Balance of Nature is about as good as it gets. As a one-off purchase it is expensive but when taken as part of the ongoing subscription the lower price point really does offer exceptional value for money and we’d recommend trying it if you are in it for the long haul.
